Physical Therapy is a major component of the rehabilitation program at HHC.
Our treatment goals are designed to allow the patient to regain prior level of physical performance after injury or decline in function thus improving quality of life. Physical therapists provide skilled care to improve the patient’s ambulation, balance, strength, transfer ability, and mobility.
They assess the need for specialized equipment and provide modalities to help in pain reduction and wound management.
Physical therapy treatment addresses orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, pulmonary and vascular care, as well as wound care. Recovery is enhanced by the use of electrical stimulation, ultrasound, moist heat, whirlpool treatment and other modalities as specified by the physician.
Upon discharge from therapy, restorative programs are established with the nursing staff or family members to ensure continuity of quality care.
